The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announces changes to future General Conferences on Friday, October 27.

According to Mormon Newsroom, the LDS Church will no longer hold the semi-annual women's session on the Saturday before the General Conference weekend and will instead hold the session on the Saturday evening of the conference. Priesthood session also will be moving to just once a year at the same time, Saturday evening.

According to the letter, consolidating general conference sessions into one weekend furthers Church efforts "of reducing and simplifying the work of the Church and the demands made upon leaders and members," and stated the change would bless the lives of all the members of the church.
