Classical pop pianist William Joseph will perform Saturday, May 30, at 7:30 p.m. in the BYU-Idaho Hart Auditorium as part of Mothers' Weekend activities.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased from the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office by calling 496-2230, online at, or at the door. Tickets are $12 for the general public and $6 for BYU-Idaho students.

Joseph combines his classical piano training with his love for rock music to produce a unique music style. From Franz Liszt to Led Zeppelin, Joseph reinvents and interprets well-known music as well as creates original pieces.

"I've always loved performing works by the great composers like Chopin and Liszt, not only for the beautiful melodies, but for the technical, showy aspects," William said. "But I was always a rocker at heart. So when [producer] David Foster and I sat down to talk about the album, the question was not, ‘Which style do we choose?' It was, ‘How do we combine them?' And it took going through the recording process to figure out how to include all my musical influences on this album. We discovered my sound as we went along."

Joseph is currently on a solo tour of western Canada. He has also toured with the vocal group Il Divo, Josh Groban and Clay Aiken, and has supported such artists as Barbara Streisand, Natalie Cole and Kenny G at concerts around the United States.
